Role Overview

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced and caring Medical Assistant with excellent clinical and customer service skills to work full-time at our S. Mark Taper Health Center. This is an intermediate level position responsible for all supporting functions in the delivery of reproductive health care service and performs all Medical Assistant front and back office functions.

What You Will Do

Assist patients by providing testing, screening, and education required for the provision of medical reproductive health care and to provide non-judgmental, empathetic education and communication on options for patients, as required. Perform various duties such as obtaining medical history, interviewing and educating clients, assisting nurses and clinicians, and providing abortion education.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have at least one to two years of experience in a clinical setting, with a medical assistant diploma or certificate, and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. They will be able to work flexible hours, including Saturdays, and have knowledge of surgical services and reproductive health care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • At least one to two years of experience in a clinical setting
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays
  • Venipuncture and Injection training
