Job Description
Role Overview

The Medical Assistant works under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Provider(s), to greet patients; relay telephone messages to the appropriate recipients; assist with procedures; and perform various other assigned clinical responsibilities, utilizing sterile and aseptic techniques.

What You Will Do

Greet patients, prepare patients for care, anticipate and support the needs and preferences of the Provider(s) and patients, monitor clinical messages, organize and clean exam and procedure rooms, complete documentation for patient charts, provide patients with discharge/follow-up instructions, and assist with follow-up programs.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent, and graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or a minimum of two (2) years of clinical Medical Assistant experience. They will also have excellent patient care skills, organizational/multi-tasking skills, and knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or a minimum of two (2) years of clinical Medical Assistant experience
  • Ability to take vital signs
  • General knowledge of healthcare and medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of insurance criteria pertaining to patient lab tests, X-rays, and other procedures
  • Excellent patient care skills and awareness of the legal implications of work and words in healthcare
  • General knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations
  • Excellent organizational/multi-tasking skills with acute attention to details
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Ability to learn and use new software technologies for electronic patient medical records and practice management scheduling systems
