Role Overview

The Medical Assistant/LPN/EMT will assist patients to achieve basic health care goals, provide safe and accurate direct care, and recognize patient's abnormalities or urgent problems. The role will involve identifying patient education needs, providing instruction, and referring appropriately. The Medical Assistant/LPN/EMT will also be responsible for documenting observations, actions, and patient outcomes, and maintaining current practice by obtaining continuing education in relevant practice areas.

What You Will Do

The Medical Assistant/LPN/EMT will perform routine office procedures and testing, administer medication and clinical procedures, and prepare exam rooms and treatment rooms. The role will also involve preparing charts and records, checking MSRs for completion, and routing appropriately. Additionally, the Medical Assistant/LPN/EMT will gather necessary information from callers and relay information to the appropriate provider, and inform the reception desk of provider's schedule status.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current LPN licensure in Minnesota
  • Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • One year working experience as an LPN is preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduated of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current EMT License
  • Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration through AAMA or AMT is preferred
