Role OverviewPersonalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to work full-time in the Medical Department at the Onondaga County Justice Center in Syracuse, NY. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for various daily tasks, including medical records requests, administrative reports, and medical duties.
What You Will Do
Perform initial intake screening, take vital signs, complete intake forms, prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas, phone verification of medications, obtain lab specimens, perform treatments, maintain medication records, administer tuberculin skin testing, and type reports.

Requirements
- Completed an approved Medical Assistant program
- Clerical experience and typing skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multi-tasking
- Good grasp of patient assessment skills
- Effective communication skills & pleasant telephone manner
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Working knowledge of office equipment and medical equipment
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Minimum of 2 years medical assistant or medical office administrative support
- Strong computer skills (including Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Strong organizations skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with confidential matters and information
