Role Overview

The Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, obtains vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, procedures, tests, and referrals.

What You Will Do

The responsibilities include patient care, coordination of care, quality, clinical excellence and regulatory compliance, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred
  • Ability to work under close supervision of a physician and clinic manager
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected patient health information
  • Ability to accurately and safely administer and document waived testing under the direct supervision of a physician
