Role Overview

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. This role includes but not limited to rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, supporting providers, and promoting efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.

What You Will Do

Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow. Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation. Performs basic patient centered care as delegated by provider.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program
  • High School Equivalent / GED
  • less than 1 year clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) (Preferred within 90 Days)
  • Medical terminology knowledge (Preferred proficiency)
  • Basic patient care skills (Required proficiency)
  • Patent focused (Required proficiency)
  • Positive attitude (Required proficiency)
  • Computer skills (Required proficiency)
  • Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds (Required proficiency)
  • Able to organize changing work assignments (Required proficiency)
