Role OverviewThe Dosimetrist is responsible for patient treatment simulation and treatment planning. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
What You Will Do
Patient treatment simulation requires setting up the patient in an appropriate treatment position, acquiring computed tomography images and/or measurements necessary for treatment planning. Treatment planning is process of placing radiation beams around the treatment area by computer or manual computation to deliver the radiation dose prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must have a minimum of three years full time experience as a staff radiation therapist. Must be a member of the American Society of Radiological Technologists (ASRT). Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- Licensed in Radiation Therapy by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP)
- Certified in Radiation Therapy (R.T.(T) by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with unrestricted credentials
- Must register and take CMD board exam within 5 of start date
- BLS for Healthcare Providers required
- Must have a minimum of three years full time experience as a staff radiation therapist
- Must be a member of the American Society of Radiological Technologists (ASRT)
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred
