Role OverviewAs a Medical Lab Scientist in the Stem Cell Lab at Duke University Hospital, you will perform a variety of routine and complex technical tasks in the performance of laboratory tests and procedures. You will work in a state-of-the-art laboratory, accredited by the College of American Pathologists, and certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments. The multidisciplinary team is committed to serving the rare and complex testing needs of Duke Health patients by providing timely and accurate results, educating the next generation of laboratorians, scientists, and physicians, and researching and developing the cutting-edge diagnostics of tomorrow.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing quality control, clerical tasks, ABO typing, viability testing, sterility testing, thawing of cellular products, cryopreservation of autologous and allogeneic cellular products, receipt and/or distribution of incoming or outgoing NMDP cellular products, and other job-related duties.

Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science; or Medical Technology
- ASCP certification preferred
- Stem Cell or Blood Bank experience
