Job Description
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist, you'll play a vital role in supporting Island Health's mission to care for those who care for others. You'll help create a positive and seamless experience for every team member, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and heard.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a program in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Meets federal guidelines (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments/CLIA) for performing high complexity testing
  • Successful completion of MLS (ASCP) certification or equivalent
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, must communicate effectively with individuals from multiple disciplines
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to monitor own work to ensure quality, and possess excellent prioritization skills
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
