Role Overview

The MEDscience Teacher role is a position for a teacher who is eager to learn and teach high school students in a unique, student-centered pedagogy. The teacher will co-teach 3-4 classes per day and have various administrative and technical responsibilities to support the organization.

What You Will Do

The teacher will be trained in MEDscience's immersive, student-centered pedagogy and must develop a clear understanding of MEDscience's curriculum and teaching method. The teacher will work effectively within a culture inclusive of individuals across a wide range of backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • College-level understanding of biology and anatomy and physiology
  • Must be flexible and have strong project management skills
  • Must possess sound judgement and know when to elevate issues to organization’s senior leadership
  • Experience in or open to training on the following lab techniques: ELISA, PCR, gel electrophoresis
  • Ability to teach in Spanish preferred
