Memory Care Director

The Memory Care Director leads a 'Whole living' approach to dementia care in their community, partnering with residents to care 'with them' rather than 'for them' to encourage each resident to reach their highest potential. They are responsible for general oversight of all aspects of the Traditions (Memory Care) neighborhood in their community, ensuring that the delivery of dementia care services exceeds resident and family expectations.

What You Will Do

Maintains a safe and secure environment, ensures compliance with state regulations, recruits and trains team members, coordinates departmental schedule, communicates effectively with residents, families, and team members, supports resident participation in activities and dining, and partners with community healthcare professionals.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have two years of experience working with persons with dementia, a BA/S in Gerontology, psychology, sociology, or related field, and certifications related to Dementia care. They will be able to obtain and maintain valid certifications, pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, and participate in daily screening and surveillance testing to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.

Requirements

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age
• Prefer two (2) years of experience working with persons with dementia
• Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees
• Preferred BA/S in Gerontology, psychology, sociology, or related field or at least 3 years working in social services, residential care, psychiatric facility, or related setting
• Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certification
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s certification
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
