Memory Care Director

The Memory Care Director leads a 'Whole living' approach to dementia care in their community, partnering with residents to care 'with them' rather than 'for them' to encourage each resident to reach their highest potential. The role involves general oversight of all aspects of the Traditions (Memory Care) neighborhood, ensuring delivery of dementia care services exceeds resident and family expectations.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure environment, ensuring compliance with state regulations, recruiting and hiring team members, coordinating departmental schedules, communicating effectively with residents and families, and supporting resident participation in activities and dining.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have experience working with persons with dementia, supervising and managing employees, and holding certifications related to dementia care. They will be able to obtain and maintain valid certifications, pass a Criminal Background check, and participate in daily screening and surveillance testing to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.

Requirements

• 18 years of age
• 2 years of experience working with persons with dementia
• 1 year of experience supervising and managing employees
• Preferred BA/S in Gerontology, psychology, sociology, or related field or at least 3 years working in social services, residential care, psychiatric facility, or related setting
• Hold or able to obtain one or more certifications related to Dementia care
• Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certification
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler's certification
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
