Role OverviewAs a Mental Health Technician (MHT), you'll work directly with patients in our inpatient behavioral health hospital by providing support, supervision, encouragement, and compassionate care in a safe, structured therapeutic environment. You'll collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and other members of the treatment team to help patients achieve recovery while ensuring a safe and positive treatment experience.
What You Will Do
Provide direct patient care and supervision throughout the shift, monitor patient behaviors and obtain vital signs, complete routine safety rounds and accurate documentation, assist with admissions, patient orientation, and discharge activities, support patients with daily living activities while promoting independence and healthy coping skills, utilize verbal de-escalation techniques during behavioral crises, escort patients to groups, appointments, and treatment activities, maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, communicate patient concerns and behavioral changes promptly to nursing staff, collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide outstanding patient care.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED plus one (1) year of direct behavioral health or psychiatric patient care experience
- One (1) year of Military Corpsman experience
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or another behavioral health-related field with mental health experience
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with previous behavioral health or psychiatric patient care experience
