Role OverviewThe Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Worker to provide direct care services to clients, assist in implementing rehabilitative behavior and recreational programs, and perform client-related housekeeping duties. The incumbent will serve as a role model for Mental Health Worker I.
What You Will Do
Complete MHW admission information, contribute to effective interpersonal and community relations, ensure assigned coverage and other duties are completed, intervene in managing crisis situations, and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

This position requires knowledge of mental health principles, practices, and techniques, as well as the ability to work in a team setting and interact with people under physical and emotional stress. Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, substance abuse, and homelessness is preferred.
Requirements
- Knowledge of mental health principles, practices, and techniques

- Capacity to interact with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress
- Ability to work in a team setting and in group situations
- Capacity to lift and carry heavy objects or persons
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety practices and procedures followed in a mental health facility
