Job Description
Role Overview

The Psychiatric Technician is responsible for supervising residents during scheduled shifts and providing individual support for assigned residents. The role involves interacting with residents daily, teaching life skills, and assisting with community resources. The Psychiatric Technician is also responsible for record keeping, crisis intervention, and security of residents and the building.

What You Will Do

Completes Personal Data Summary on assigned residents, interacts with residents daily, teaches life skills, assists with community resources, and performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requires excellent communication skills, a high degree of maturity, and a willingness to work with the chronically mentally ill. Must have a valid PA driver's license and an acceptable PA criminal history, FBI clearance, and Child Abuse clearance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the social sciences and one year of mental health experience
  • One to two years of college, and/or experience providing services to the mentally disabled
  • High School Diploma (or equivalency) Plus twelve (12) semester credit hours from an approved educational program and two years direct care experience
  • Excellent communication skills, a high degree of maturity, and a valid PA driver's license
  • Acceptable PA criminal history, FBI clearance, and Child Abuse clearance
