Requirements

• Maintains a quality control program
• Documents Quality Assurance
• Resolves technical problems and takes remedial actions
• Reviews all QC and maintenance logs
• Helps ensures safety for all personnel in the lab
• Participates in regular proficiency testing programs
• Maintains all appropriate laboratory paperwork
• Maintaining/troubleshooting laboratory equipment and computer systems
• Ordering and maintaining testing supplies and equipment
• Performs laboratory testing such as chemistries, hematology, immunoassay testing
• Assists in new staff training
• Has a general understanding of the LIS function
• Handles laboratory data collection systems and equipment
• Correctly identifies all patients to avoid mistakes
• Performs specimen processing, preparation and distribution of specimens
• Maintains a constant awareness of policies, and procedures
• Effectively communicate with patients, reassuring them, making them feel at ease
• Handles information with discretion and always maintains confidentiality
• Coordinates and consults with lab manager regarding lab related issues
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
• Comply with all OSHA, CLIA, and federal regulations
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
• Other duties as assigned
