Job Description
The Viral and Rickettsial Disease Laboratory (VRDL) is seeking a highly motivated Microbiologist II to work with the Respiratory and Gastroenteric Diseases Section (RGDS) – COVIDNet Unit. The ideal candidate will have a scientific background in microbiology, molecular and cellular biology, experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, and familiarity with high-throughput laboratory automation.

Requirements

  • Scientific background in microbiology, molecular and cellular biology
  • Experience or proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR
  • Experience with handling biological and microbiological (bacteria, viruses, or other microorganisms) samples
  • Knowledge and experience with laboratory work environments (BSL-2 minimum) and sterile technique
  • Familiarity with high-throughput laboratory automation
