Mill Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting to the General Supervisor Mill Maintenance, the Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for planning, scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities. The rotation schedule will be an even rotation with 3 weeks on-site and 3 weeks off-site. The incumbent is a part of a maintenance team and cannot work in isolation from other groups, and will continually strive to maximize the effectiveness of the organization.

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures. Through effective communication with crew members identify potential safety issues, and personally follow through with corrective action in a timely manner and communicate progress to crew members.

The incumbent will continually strive to maximize the effectiveness of the organization and ensure ongoing development of all employees with a high focus on the apprenticeship program.

Requirements

• Journeyperson Millwright with a minimum seven (7) years’ experience in a heavy industrial environment
• One (1) year of lead-hand Supervisory experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications
• Effectively communicate with the crew and all levels of management and ensure continual feedback
• A team player, working closely with both operating and other maintenance staff and will continually strive to maximize the effectiveness of the organization
• Ensure ongoing development of all employees with a high focus on the apprenticeship program
• Have a working knowledge of MSHA Standards
• Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities
• Proven and exemplary leadership skills
