Role OverviewAs a Mill Operator Trainee at Freeport-McMoRan, you will be part of a collaborative environment where safety is a top priority, all opinions are valued, and people are empowered to grow in their career. You will work at the Chino open-pit copper mining complex in southwestern New Mexico, where you will make guided decisions to support safe production, maintain and operate concentrator equipment, and perform detailed inspections of operating equipment and operational areas.
What You Will Do
Your main responsibilities will include making guided decisions to support safe production, maintaining and operating concentrator equipment, performing detailed inspections of operating equipment and operational areas, assisting with maintenance activities, completing area housekeeping duties, and learning and understanding basic metallurgical milling principles.
Why It Might Be a Fit
To be a fit for this role, you will need three months of work experience, the ability to communicate in English, knowledge of milling, crushing, and conveying equipment, and the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required.
