Job Description
We are seeking a Mineral Resources Inspector 2 to work in the Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management, headquartered at the Zanesville Office in Muskingum County, assigned to Licking County. The inspector will be responsible for inspecting, investigating, and reporting on various oil/gas industry activities for compliance with permits and regulations. The position requires a strong understanding of natural science and specialization in oil and gas and solution mining. The inspector will work independently and be required to travel, conduct field inspections in inclement weather, and be exposed to loud noises and toxic substances.

Requirements

  • Independently inspects, investigates, and reports on various oil/gas industry activities for compliance with permits and regulations.
  • Oversees drilling, plugging, and producing operations on oil/gas wells.
  • Investigates complaints and reported violations of Ohio Revised Code Chapter 1509 and Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 1501.
  • Collects evidence and makes recommendations for corrective action, including issuing compliance notices and monitoring violations.
  • Prepares and submits reports and related forms pertaining to daily inspection/investigation activities.
  • Requires a strong understanding of natural science and specialization in oil and gas and solution mining.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation and have a valid driver's license.
