Mobile Newsroom Platform Product Owner

The Product Owner will lead the evolution of TEGNA's Mobile Newsroom Platform on iOS and Android, transforming how stories are planned, assigned, created, and published across TEGNA's nationwide newsroom network. The role requires a strong product mindset, balancing customer needs, business priorities, and technical realities to deliver intuitive, high-impact solutions.

What You Will Do

The Product Owner will own the roadmap for the mobile newsroom experience, helping to build products that make journalism faster, smarter, and more connected. This includes defining and executing the long-term vision for the Mobile Newsroom Platform, owning and prioritizing the product backlog, and partnering with UX researchers and designers to identify customer problems and validate solutions.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of Product Management or Product Owner experience
• Experience delivering mobile applications across iOS and Android
• Passion for building products that improve customer workflows and productivity
• Strong customer empathy with the ability to translate user needs into actionable product improvements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
• Ability to negotiate competing priorities while maintaining focus on customer value
