Role OverviewThe Monitor – Domestic Violence provides security for the program and assists with the maintenance and implementation of the routine processes, projects, and requirements of the program. Answers the program Domestic Violence Hotline, providing assistance and referrals to callers who may have been victims or are currently abused.
What You Will Do
Domestic violence counseling, under guidance and supervision of the Program Manager, the Monitor – Domestic Violence operates the program Domestic Violence Hotline, providing crisis counseling and referrals to callers. Collaborates with case manager and program staff to assist service plans for clients; assists in required intervention; participates in group and educational sessions.

Ability to work and deal with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as SCADP serves the neediest of the needy in our programs, which may include clients with homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration, and other challenges.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
- Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as SCADP serves the neediest of the needy in our programs which may include clients with homelessness, mental-illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration and other challenges.
- Domestic Violence counselling certificate (40 hour class)
- Six months in the security field or six months providing social services as a worker or volunteer, or a combination of both totaling six months experience; a formal degree or certification in a social service related discipline can substitute for the experience requirement.
