Role OverviewThe Mortgage Loan Officer sells and originates residential mortgage loans to sales goals. The role involves meeting with prospects, explaining mortgage products and services, guiding customers through the mortgage application process, and ensuring applications are completed accurately. The Mortgage Loan Officer will also generate referrals for mortgage sales opportunities and develop a plan to achieve sales goals with assistance from sales management.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Mortgage Loan Officer include taking residential mortgage loan applications, offering or negotiating terms of residential mortgage loans, and ensuring applications are completed accurately. The role also involves communicating loan decisions directly to customers, submitting application materials to underwriting, and attending closings as needed.

Requirements
- Bachelors degree or progressive work experience
- 2+ Years of mortgage origination experience
- Proven sales ability
- Developing knowledge of mortgage industry, products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines

- Strong time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- PC skills, including ability to learn mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems
