Job Description
Role Overview

Operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Works in a radiology department, reporting to the Director of Radiology and Radiology Manager.

What You Will Do

Interviews patients, positions them on examining tables, and enters data into computers to prepare for MRI scans. Demonstrates use of microphones, keys commands to specify scan sequences, and observes patients through windows to monitor safety and comfort.

Requires problem-solving skills, customer service skills, adaptability, and quality awareness. Must be proficient in MRI safety and knowledge of MR zones. Must maintain patient care, comfort, and safety during exams.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • MRI specialty training certification (ARRT-MR)
  • NYS RT License with Injection
  • Active BLS training
