Role Overview

The Multimedia Communications Design Specialist will work out of the AECOM office in Columbus, OH. This media design specialist develops innovative communications products that enhance public engagement, support technical project delivery, and strengthen client communications across a variety of digital platforms. Working collaboratively with graphic designers, engineers, planners, public involvement specialists, GIS professionals, and project managers, this position transforms complex technical information into engaging, accessible, and visually compelling digital experiences.

Responsibilities include creating animated presentations, motion graphics, website graphics, digital newsletters, email campaigns, social media content, interactive communication materials, and multimedia assets that support engineering, transportation, planning, and public outreach initiatives.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Ability to pass MVR check + traditional background screening process
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience with static design, motion/video work, social media assets, and other multimedia communications products
  • Strong foundation in visual design fundamentals: typography, composition, color theory, layout, visual hierarchy, and accessibility
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms, including LinkedIn, X, and YouTube with experience developing, scheduling, and evaluating content
  • Experience with web content, analytics, media monitoring, and reporting tools preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, formatting, and brand consistency
  • Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and stakeholder feedback
