Job Description
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a National Security Engineering Division (NSED) Undergraduate Intern for Summer 2026. Interns will gain practical research experience working on electrical, mechanical, computational, or nuclear engineering projects within the NSED. The role involves technical and research support to national defense and other projects, with opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge solutions in national security and energy.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to access the Laboratory (Section 3112 NDAA)
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or related field
  • Student in good academic standing
  • Strong academic record
  • Ability to work full time during internship (10-12 weeks)
  • Basic understanding of engineering or scientific principles
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with databases and research tools
