Role OverviewSMX is seeking a Network Administrator to join our team supporting NAVAIR at Patuxent River, MD. This is a mid-level role supporting enterprise network infrastructure, boundary services, cybersecurity compliance, and modernization efforts across a large DoD environment.
What You Will Do
Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and application-level connectivity and performance issues, configure and maintain network infrastructure, and support highly available network architectures.

Requirements
- Clearance Required: Top Secret
- A secret clearance may be considered to start, but candidates must be eligible for upgrade to Top Secret
- US Citizenship is required for work on DOW contracts
- DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II compliant certification, such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, or another qualifying certification
- 3+ years of experience supporting network infrastructure, Cisco devices, IP networking, or related enterprise network environments
- Experience configuring, monitoring, maintaining, or troubleshooting network systems and infrastructure
- Familiarity with enterprise networking concepts, protocols, and highly available network environments
- Working knowledge of DoD cybersecurity practices, including Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams and customers
