Role OverviewPeraton has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our team in Landover, MD. Our program provides lifecycle support for a large Information Technology (IT) network supporting a Department of Defense (DoD) customer.
What You Will Do
The Network Engineer will be responsible for planning the implementation of enhancements and upgrades to routers/switches for a large, worldwide enterprise network, designing and planning changes to network communications systems, and providing specifications and developing detailed schematics for network architecture.

This role requires an active/current TS/SCI /w Poly Security Clearance, a current/valid Security+ Certification, and a minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA or 6 years with an MS/MA. Experience with developing Zabbix templates, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS-XE and NX-OS routers and switches, and applying security configurations to Cisco networking devices according to DISA STIGs is also required.
Requirements
- Active/current TS/SCI /w Poly Security Clearance
- Current/valid Security+ Certification
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA or minimum of 6 years with MS/MA
- Experience with developing Zabbix templates
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS-XE and NX-OS routers and switches
- Experience with EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF Protocols
- Experience with Cisco zone-based firewalls, Access Controls Lists, IPSEC tunnels, Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) and VLAN separation
- Experience with scripting languages, such as Expect, Bash, and Python
- Experience with Ansible playbooks
- Experience applying security configurations to Cisco networking devices according to DISA STIGs
