Job Description
WOWT First Alert 6 is looking for an experienced, dynamic Evening Anchor to be a cornerstone of our on-air team. This is not a read-the-prompter role. We want someone who is deeply invested in the news, brings strong editorial instincts to the desk, and is an active presence in the newsroom every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, or related field
  • At least 4 years of experience as a news anchor in a professional broadcast environment
  • Strong editorial instincts and news judgment, with an understanding of what makes a story a First Alert
  • Excellent on-air presence and the ability to deliver news clearly, professionally, and with authority
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to write accurately and creatively under deadline pressure
  • Comfortable and confident leading live breaking news coverage
  • Active and engaging on social media, with an understanding of how to connect with audiences across platforms
  • Strong people skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude
