Job Description
Job Summary: Responsible for the protection of Navy Exchange assets through investigative strategies and the auditing of controls designed to prevent and minimize loss potential.

Requirements

  • Maintains surveillance throughout the Navy Exchange facilities
  • Detects and detains individuals suspected of shoplifting
  • Investigates incidents of fraud, waste and abuse
  • Conducts audits of cash registers, cash offices, retail inventory controls, and service operations
  • Conducts investigative research of cash variances and suspicious register transactions
  • Conducts Accident Investigations involving associates and customers
  • Maintains physical security of NEX facilities
  • Maintains fire/safety controls and precautions
  • Provides assistance to management in evacuations of NEX facilities
  • Monitors Known Theft evidence, Lost Found programs, and Access Control policies
  • Assists and monitors the destruction and disposal of merchandise
  • Testifies in criminal and civil court proceedings
  • Maintains a professional image and demeanor
  • Promotes and adheres to NEXCOM LPS programs
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of factors contributing to inventory shrinkage
  • Assists in the LPS training and awareness initiatives of NEX associates
  • Performs other related administrative/investigative duties
