Role Overview

The Non-CDL Driver is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation service by operating a school bus or other location-specific vehicle with a fixed or changing route. The driver must exhibit the highest ethical best practices and personal integrity, and follow company policies around student and/or passenger management.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Non-CDL Driver include providing safe transportation, reporting to duty on time, and maintaining a safe and efficient route. The driver must also physically assist passengers in evacuation of the vehicle in case of an emergency, and immediately report any accidents or incidents per company policy.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age; for Tennessee School Bus Drivers, must be at least 25 years of age per state law
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, all valid applicable state license and other required certifications to operate company vehicles
  • Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening
  • Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training
  • Must practice defensive driving at all times and avoid vehicular and industrial accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits
  • Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, district, and contract specific Driver requirements
