Role OverviewWe are seeking an automation lead to build and develop a team and take site-level ownership over automation and electrical functions at Nucor Towers & Structures in New Ross, Indiana. The site will feature state-of-the-art controls, automation, and robotics for advanced steel manufacturing.
What You Will Do
The team will support the integration of robots into custom-designed manufacturing cells and be responsible for maximizing equipment productivity. Recruit a diverse and high-achieving team, train, develop, and coach the automation team, lead multimillion-dollar capital investment projects, and attend automation, robotics, and equipment supplier training.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Leadership presence and experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs, ABB robots, and Ignition SCADA and HMI are preferred qualifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and two years of experience
- an associate’s degree in a STEM field and four years of experience
- six years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Diverse background in PLCs, HMIs, and industrial controls
- Ability to travel for training, equipment runoffs, and to NTS sites in Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Utah, and South Carolina
