Role Overview

The Nuclear Surety & Certification lead is responsible for planning and managing surety requirements, overseeing implementation, ensuring verification, and supporting certification for the LOC missile. This position is responsible for managing the implementation of DoD Inst 3150.02, DoD Nuclear Weapon Systems Surety Program, requirements at the flight-system and missile level to integrate safety, security, and control policies through formalized procedures that assess and mitigate risk throughout the LOC weapon system’s life cycle.

What You Will Do

Serve as the principal engineer to assess surety policy and flow down implementable and verifiable missile requirements. Lead oversight and approval of contractor surety implementation into missile and missile support equipment designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, or related discipline)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in defense system engineering on an MDAP
  • Extensive knowledge of DoD Instruction (DoDI) 3150.02, Nuclear Weapons Systems Surety Program
  • Knowledge of the DoD 5000-series acquisition policies, including DoDI 5000.88 and 5000.02
  • Demonstrated experience in missile systems design, integration, and verification
  • Active or recently adjudicated Top Secret clearance
