Role Overview

The Nurse Coordinator PHN10 will assist in the orientation of new staff, assess training needs, and develop professional opportunities for Healthy Start Systems staff. They will also supervise subordinates, ensure equitable approaches to maternal and child health, and work to advance BPHC as an antiracist organization.

What You Will Do

The Nurse Coordinator PHN10 will participate in special projects, provide clinical support, and collaborate with others to address health disparities in maternal child health. They will also provide education and outreach on maternal child health issues, act as a resource on maternal and child health-related issues, and support assessments of program outcomes.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
  • BSN or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field required except that 10 years clinical or public health experience (health education, outreach) may be substituted for a BSN or Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Education, Public Health, or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in case management and/or emergency nursing
  • Strong assessment, planning, evaluation, and intervention skills
  • Excellent teaching, coaching, and counseling abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out responsibilities in the home, community, clinic, school, and/or other group settings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity
  • Commitment to health equity and racial/social justice issues
