Requirements

  • Lead and support the delivery of safe, high-quality, age-appropriate emergency and trauma care
  • Serve as a clinical and professional role model for patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and team-oriented environment
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and development of Emergency Department nursing staff
  • Ensure staff competencies, certifications, licensure, and regulatory requirements are consistently met
  • Direct, assign, review, and evaluate work performance; manage corrective action processes when necessary
  • Monitor and manage departmental operating expenses, including staffing levels, productivity, overtime, and premium pay, in alignment with budgetary goals
  • Champion patient experience, relationship-centered care, and evidence-based practice
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and effective staffing coverage to meet fluctuating operational demands
  • Act as a responsible steward of organizational resources while supporting continuous improvement initiatives
