Role OverviewMatrix Providers is hiring a Nurse Practitioner NP / Physician Assistant PA to conduct one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams in San Diego, CA. The role involves reviewing medical history documentation and providing veterans with compensation and pension exams.
What You Will Do
Capture responses during exams through web-based examination forms, complete documentation electronically, and send exams to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and possess basic computer skills. Prior VA or compensation exam experience is a plus but not required.
Requirements
- Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
- Have a master's degree or successfully completed an approved Physician Assistant Program
- Hold an active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing situations
- Must possess basic computer skills
- All on-site staff and contractors must be fully vaccinated per CDC and state guidelines
