Role OverviewThe Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide a thorough evaluation of a patient's medical/surgical history prior to planned procedures and surgeries requiring anesthesia. The position requires screening for all types of procedures and surgeries within a broad range of specialties and adults 18 years and above.
What You Will Do
Conduct detailed and thorough medical/surgical history assessment, physical exams, medication reconciliation, provide perioperative instructions/guidance, order testing, provide consults, prescribe treatment or services, follow up on ordered laboratory studies, and communicate with medical specialists and surgeons.

Requirements
- Graduate of accredited DNP or MSN Nurse Practitioner program for adult care (NP)
- Graduate of ARC accredited Physician Assistant Program (PA)
- Current unrestricted RN license issued by or recognized by the NCBON with approval to practice as an NP
- Current unrestricted medical license issued by the NCMB with approval to practice as a PA
- Federal and State unrestricted prescriptive authority
- NP certification to treat adults (e.g., FNP, AGACNP, AGPCNP, ANP, AGNP)
- PA-C certification
- 2 years experience as NP or PA in preanesthesia testing, cardiology, hospital medicine, general surgery, or surgical specialties
