Role Overview

The Nurse Unit Manager RN is responsible for managing the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility, ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. The role involves managing nursing staff, scheduling breaks, and enforcing policies. The Nurse Unit Manager RN also meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, and other related departments to plan care and develops and maintains care standards.

What You Will Do

The Nurse Unit Manager RN will perform various duties such as giving and receiving the nursing report, ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the work area, and providing direct nursing care as necessary. The role also involves completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting, as well as interpreting restorative care policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Current CPR Certification
  • Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University
  • Current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Long-Term care and MDS experience preferred
