Role Overview

The Nursing Coordinator, Data Analytics will be responsible for identifying cases through predetermined filters, performing case reviews, and conducting initial reviews of cases to determine appropriateness for Committee review. The role will also involve selecting and assigning cases to peers for review in consultation with Committee Chair(s), performing clinical data abstraction and analysis, and providing clinical support to the programs.

The Nursing Coordinator, Data Analytics will be responsible for tracking attendance, maintaining Committee rosters, attendance, and case volume logs, and providing dedicated support for Surgical PI and EGS-specific quality improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Identifies cases through predetermined filters and performs case reviews
  • Conducts initial review of cases to determine appropriateness for Committee review
  • Selects and assigns cases to peers for review in consultation with Committee Chair(s)
  • Performs clinical data abstraction and analysis for the Emergency General Surgery (EGS) and Surgery Quality & Performance Improvement Programs
  • Provides clinical support to the programs
  • Maintains a functional system of collaboration for programmatic data and quality improvement needs
  • Works closely with key personnel to ensure data accuracy and meaningful QI initiatives
  • Maintains collaborative working relationship with Medical Director(s) and key personnel to meet program goals
  • Attends Committee meetings and records minutes and discussion points on case presentations
  • Generates correspondence to surgeons whose cases were reviewed to request additional information
  • Tracks attendance and is responsible for meeting related correspondence (reminders, meeting invitations, etc.)
  • Maintains Committee rosters, attendance, and case volume logs
  • Provides dedicated support for Surgical PI and EGS-specific quality improvement activities
  • Assists in the administrative functions of the EGS Program
