Job Description
The Massachusetts Veterans Home at Chelsea is seeking a Nursing Scheduler to provide scheduling and staffing coverage for the Nursing Department. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of full-time experience in office work, with at least two years in a supervisory or administrative capacity. Rotational weekend schedules are required.
Requirements
Collaborates with Staff Development department for scheduled mandated nursing staff trainings
Creates nurse staff schedules for new hire nursing staff
Processes schedule changes within nursing department
Works collaboratively with nursing supervisors to fill call-out shifts
Generates and maintains the Nursing Department schedules
Contacts Nursing staff to solicit volunteers for authorized overtime and notifies employees of approved overtime and extra time
Files materials such as correspondence, and nursing logs attendance records, etc.
Collects/Tracks time off requests for all nursing staff
Ensures that agency time logs, daily worksheets and need lists for all shifts are complete
Checks monthly schedules and daily worksheets to ensure accuracy
Provides support to Director of Nursing as necessary
