Role Overview

The OB Technician performs patient care and clerical duties to assist and support the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP) department. Works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Provides direct care to patients of various ages and interacts with physicians, patients, families/significant others, hospital staff, and community agencies.

What You Will Do

Performs a variety of patient care and clerical duties, including completion and processing of birth certificates and 'Declaration of Paternity' forms.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and completion of a nursing assistant or medical assistant training program. The candidate will be responsible for direct patient care and interacting with various stakeholders in the hospital.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current
  • Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, ROP, Paramedic Training Program, Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent
