Occupational Therapist (Full-Time)

The Occupational Therapist will assist the Day School team in cultivating a positive learning environment that utilizes best practices and support administration to effectively deliver occupational therapy services as defined by the Illinois State Board of Education. The role requires delivering occupational therapy services, planning and implementing interventions, and collaborating with various groups and individuals. The Occupational Therapist will work in a fast-paced environment that strives to raise the quality of educational support for children and young adults with autism.

What You Will Do

Deliver occupational therapy services, plan and develop interventions, seek out professional development opportunities, collaborate with teams, adapt and modify the environment, administer assessments, develop intervention plans, and maintain student records.

Requirements

• Licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation pursuant to the Illinois Occupational Therapy Practice Act
• Professional judgement and clinical knowledge used to develop individualized programing based on occupational performance deficits
• Working with public and private sector organizations, state and local regulators, school districts, and education leaders
• Excellent writing skills, ability to build and sustain relations with TP staff and organizational leaders, and all stakeholders in a student's home district
• Show initiative, work independently, and possess solid organizational skills required
• Have a patient and calm approach to work; ability to provide and accept constructive feedback
