Occupational Therapist

As an Occupational Therapist, you will promote maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest. You will provide comprehensive patient evaluations, prepare patients for return to daily living, and evaluate results of occupational therapy.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include promoting maximum independence, providing patient evaluations, preparing patients for return to daily living, evaluating results of occupational therapy, maintaining patient case load, participating in staff meetings, supervising COTA and OT/COTA students, completing discharges and paperwork, and designing home exercise programs.

Requirements

• Must have graduated and completed professional Occupational Therapy training from an accredited program leading to, at minimum, a Bachelor's degree.
• Must maintain current state Licensure through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Allied Health Division of Professional Licensure.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Must have strong hand therapy and orthopedic experience, comfort with splinting, CHT preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and other regulatory policies.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment.
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public by displaying sympathy, tact and understanding.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude, adjust to various personalities, work with a diverse population, demonstrating patience and professionalism.
• Represents the clinic in a professional manner.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all patient issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
