Role OverviewAs an ODOT Mechanic, you will perform routine maintenance and service on cars, trucks, and other equipment, assist higher-level mechanics with complex maintenance, and maintain records of repairs and maintenance. You will also be responsible for minor repairs and miscellaneous mechanic work, and operate welding torches to repair equipment. You will work in a garage environment and may be exposed to unpleasant conditions, including dirt, loud noise, grease, dust, and gas fumes.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance and service, assisting higher-level mechanics, and performing minor repairs and miscellaneous mechanic work. You will also be responsible for maintaining records of repairs and maintenance, and operating welding torches to repair equipment.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This position may be a good fit for you if you have 24 months of experience in automotive repair and maintenance, or equivalent experience as an ODOT Mechanic Trainee. You will need to have a valid commercial driver's license and be able to pass a urinalysis test prior to appointment. You will also need to be able to work in a garage environment and be exposed to unpleasant conditions.
