Role Overview

The Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs (ODVA) is a State of Oregon agency with a mission to serve and honor veterans through leadership, advocacy, and strong partnerships. The Department is entrusted to assist veterans, their dependents, and surviving family members in obtaining their earned Federal, State, and local benefits. The Office Specialist 2 (Claims Data Entry Specialist) will support the Appeals and Special Advocacy Division, and County and Tribal Veteran Service Offices, by performing claims processing, data entry, and quality assurance functions.

What You Will Do

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Appeals and Special Advocacy Division, and County and Tribal Veteran Service Offices, by performing claims processing, data entry, and quality assurance functions. The position monitors multiple electronic databases, fulfills file research requests, and transmits all required casework to the USDVA.

Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents
  • Associate degree in any field
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated professional, thoughtful, and effective communication and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to accurately process high-volume, detail-oriented work while meeting strict deadlines
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Experience using VetraSpec, VBMS, or similar case management systems
