Job Description
OIEC is hiring an Early Assistance Advocate for Injured Employees (Ombudsman I) in Austin. The agency assists injured employees with their Texas workers' compensation claims, and the ideal candidate will have a passion for public service and enjoy making a difference. The role involves advocating, assisting, and educating injured employees, and requires knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as conflict resolution and customer service skills.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university
  • one year experience in claims management, insurance, casework, healthcare, social work, law office (paralegal/legal assistant) or workers' compensation
  • Or graduation from high school or equivalent and two years of experience working for the Office of Injured Employee Counsel
