Onsite Engineering Representative I

HDR is seeking an On-Site Engineer/Representative for a large data center construction project in Lebanon, Indiana. The role serves as a liaison between the owner, design team, and general contractor, focusing on design changes needed during construction. The individual will be employed by HDR Engineering, the prime design consultant and Engineer of Record, and will work full-time at the project site.

What You Will Do

Serve as the single point of communication during the construction phase, manage design and construction documents and revision control, determine if work proceeds in substantial conformity with design plans, provide design document review and coordination across multiple disciplines, facilitate daily communication with the owner, design team, and contractor, and perform field observation and other construction phase services safely and independently.

The position does not involve inspection or contractor management but requires experience-based knowledge of specifications to know when to elevate issues to the design team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
• Demonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
• Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
• Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
