Role OverviewThe Operating Room Service Coordinator is responsible for coordinating service specialty lines in the OR, collaborating with surgeons, staff members, vendors, and other departments, and mentoring Perioperative Services staff.
What You Will Do
The Service Coordinator will facilitate case flow, maintain preference cards, order supplies, review the schedule, and collaborate with OR Sterile and OR Supply departments to verify availability of all equipment and supplies needed for procedures.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The Service Coordinator will serve as the service line subject matter expert, develop policies for new procedures, select new equipment, and create and implement relevant changes to their service line.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Junior College/Technical School
- Bachelor's degree
- Active RN nursing license valid in the state of WV
- AHA CPR/BLS
- At least 1-2 experience as an OR RN
- Understanding of surgical process flow throughout Perioperative Services
- Knowledge of surgical procedures
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and troubleshoot
- Proficiency in the preference card process and responsibilities
- Proficiency in assessing par levels and ordering of supplies for service line
