Role OverviewAs an Operational and People Safety Advisor – Americas, you’ll play a key role in keeping people, operations and environments safe across Qantas Airways’ high-risk, fast-paced operational network. You’ll work closely with frontline teams, supervisors and leaders to identify and manage risk, lead investigations, and embed practical safety solutions.
What You Will Do
You’ll be responsible for identifying and managing risk, leading investigations, and embedding practical safety solutions where they matter most—on the ground. You’ll partner with the business to strengthen safety culture, improve reporting and governance, and ensure safety practices are not only compliant, but genuinely effective in day-to-day operations.

Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Safety or a related field
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in an Occupational Safety and Health role
- Strong capability in incident investigations, risk management and safety systems
- Ability to translate theory into practical action
- Demonstrated ability to build credibility and influence at all levels
- Hands-on, operational mindset
- Strong judgement and confidence to challenge behaviours and drive change
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Sound understanding of WHS/OHS legislation and regulatory frameworks
