Operations Manager - Agriculture

The Operations Manager identifies needed improvements for business processes and operations to increase overall productivity, increase efficiencies, and lower sales costs. This position is also responsible for creating processes and procedures to meet business objectives for the location. The role involves overseeing a team of 5-10 members and requires leadership skills, including supervising a team, coordinating meetings, and managing safety regulations. The Operations Manager will work in an office setting and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, with exposure to outdoor elements. The position requires the ability to read, write, and speak English, and communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill. Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, are also required.

What You Will Do

The Operations Manager will identify and improve practices to lower average inventory shrinkage costs, ensure fertilizer freight is captured at the correct cost center, serve as a resource to branch leadership, and assist with specific improvement activities within the branch. The role also involves managing total inventories relative to the best taxable position, correcting invoicing of tech fees, and providing guidance to locations on the best usage of flat storage.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or technical school certificate
• Three years of operations, sales, or branch management experience in the agricultural field
• Leadership skills, including supervising a team of 5-10 members
• Ability to multi-task, including dispatching trucks and equipment per client orders
• Fabricating and heavy truck experience is preferred
• Ability to manage safety regulations
• Working knowledge of Helena products is preferred
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Valid U.S. driver's license is required
• Ability to read, write, and speak English is required
• Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill
• Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
